TOURISM – From 5 to 7 July 2024. Musical evening in Piazza Ariostea, dawn concert in Certosa, themed illuminated monuments
With the arrival of the Pink Night, the city of Este is tinged with pink with dedicated initiatives, becoming an excellent alternative to the events on the Riviera. Also this year the great New Year’s Eve of the summer, scheduled from 5th to 7th July 2024will brighten up Ferrara with a series of events designed for both citizens and tourists.
The program of initiatives in the city was illustrated today in a press conference in the municipal residence by the Councilor for Tourism and Promotion of the Territory of the Municipality of Ferrara Matthew Fornasini together with the president of Ferrara Tua Luca Cimarelli it’s at Patricia Guidi by Po Delta Tourism.
“This year too we are happy to host new events in a Pink Night full of news and appointments. In one of the historical settings, such as the Monumental Charterhouse of Ferrara, we will welcome visitors and tourists for the dawn concert, which will be the highlight of the 2024 edition with the performance of the intense pianist Gile Bae. The suggestive gardens of the Charterhouse are one of the business cards of the city on which we have decided to focus because they are part of a magnificent place, rich in history and charm, to be made known and enhanced. The Pink Night will give the opportunity to make known and taste excellences and typical products, and to actively involve also the commercial operators, who for the occasion will propose their creative and fun promotions”, says the councilor of the Municipality of Ferrara for Tourism and Promotion of the territory, Matteo Fornasini.
“This is the fourth consecutive year in which many Ferrarese and non-Ferrarese people will choose the Certosa Monumentale to attend one of the flagship events of the Notte Rosa in Ferrara: the dawn concert. Last Saturday, 1,000 spectators were thrilled by the performance of “Carmina Burana” at dusk, in a unique and fascinating setting, and I am convinced that on Sunday at 6:00, those who choose to spend the dawn with us will be able to experience the same sensations. Events in the Certosa require meticulous planning and their realization always requires the involvement of multiple entities that with their skills and their work make it possible to offer the city high-profile shows. Therefore, on behalf of Ferrara Tua and the Administration, I thank Ferrara Musica, Teatro Comunale di Ferrara and Conservatorio Frescobaldi for their fundamental contribution. I believe it is a virtuous example of collaboration between entities”, he adds. Luca Cimarelli, President of Ferrara Tua.
“The Pink Night is one of the most energetic and lively events of the summer, and it is the event that will transform the streets, squares and monuments into a kaleidoscope of lights, sounds and colours. The events and initiatives that the municipal administration of Ferrara has prepared are flanked by the initiatives organised by “InFerrara”, a partner of the administration and responsible for the promotion and marketing of the city’s tourist product. These are experiences capable of marrying the theme of summer fun typical of the event with the peculiarities and typical themes of the city of Este. The action of InFerrara, on the occasion of this Pink Night 2024, was not limited to the sole organisation of traditional experiences to offer visitors and tourists but went further: through the trade associations we have in fact involved some commercial establishments in the city who have happily joined in creating pink initiatives”, concludes Patrizia Guidi from InFerrara.
For all three evenings, the Estense Castle, the fountain in Piazza della Repubblica and Porta Paola will be enhanced by awith pink lightingwhich will enhance and characterize the architectural beauties of the city for the occasion.
Friday 5th Julythe Ferrara Summer Festival presents “The Night of Formats”: an event at free entry That – from 5:00 pm in Piazza Ariostea – will make the audience dance to the rhythms of the best musical formats around, with music from the 90s, 00s and 10s.
Friday 5th and Saturday 6th July, Porta Paola – Documentation Centre on the Walls will remain open free of charge from 6pm to 11pmin collaboration with Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori, with the possibility for the curious to discover the history of the city walls.
Saturday 6th Julyeven the Estense Castle will remain exceptionally open from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm (last admission 10:30 pm)with a special single entrance fee of 5 euros, plus a possible additional 2 euros for climbing the Torre dei Leoni to admire the view at sunset or at night. For those who want to learn more about the history of the Estense Castle, a guided tour promoted by InFerrara will start at 9:30 pm, which can be purchased on the website inferrara.it or at the IAT of the Estense Castle (full price 10 euros, reduced 7 euros from 7 to 17 years old, free up to 6 years old).
On inferrara.it or at the IAT it will be possible to purchase, again for the evening of July 6, the ticket (full price 12 euros, reduced 8 euros for children up to 17 years) to participate in the Pink Bike Tour. With your own bicycle and together with a guide you will travel along an itinerary full of curiosities, anecdotes and history, which will range from the suggestive medieval alleys to the more airy Renaissance avenues, until reaching the Darsenawhere those who wish can stop for a drink or a snack at one of the MangiaFeExpo standenjoying the evening breeze of the riverside.
The celebrations will end with the first lights of the July 7, 6:00 amwith the now traditional Dawn Concert at Certosa MonumentaleThe protagonist will be the acclaimed pianist Gile Baeone of the most brilliant performers of her generation, who will offer a solo piano recital capable of moving and involving the audience. Her notes will intertwine with the light of dawn, creating a unique and evocative experience. The event is organized by Ferrara Tua with the artistic direction by Ferrara Musica.
There will also be special initiatives in bars, restaurants and shops in the city, including special cocktails and pink decorations.
The Notte Rosa event is promoted by the Romagna Tourist Destination.

ALWAYS IN FERRARA DURING THE PINK NIGHT:
FERRARA SUMMER FESTIVAL – During the Notte Rosa weekend, Ferrara also offers many other initiatives, which further enrich the offer, for all tastes: on July 4th there will be Extreme at the Ferrara Summer Festival, while on July 5th the musical event will host La notte dei format (from 5:30 pm, Piazza Ariostea offers the largest event that includes the best musical formats around, with music from the 90s, 00s and 10s). On July 6th there will be Tedua in concert, who with his single “Parole Vuote (La Solitudine)” feat. Capo Plaza in the first 24 hours of its release conquered the top of the Top 50 of Spotify Italy and the Top 100 Italy of Apple Music, while on July 7th Calcutta arrives, again in Piazza Ariostea, with the Relax Tour Estivo 2024 which will give fans the opportunity to listen to his songs live and immerse themselves in his engaging and intense music.
COMFORT FESTIVAL – Also on July 7th, in the New River Dock, another great event dedicated to music will be hosted instead: Comfort Festival, where big names in music will perform. The event will mark the great return to the scene after 9 years of hiatus of The Gaslight Anthem in the only Italian date of the summer of 2024, during which they will present the new album History Books (2023). Preceding the band of Brian Fallon and his companions on stage will be Gary Clark Jr., an appreciated blues singer and guitarist who has won a long series of awards – including several Grammy Awards – for his works, including the extraordinary This Land (2019). In the afternoon, many other concerts are scheduled: Lovesick Duo, Hardwicke Circus, Savana Funk, Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes in the only Italian date, and Rival Sons. In the recently redeveloped area, in a particularly suggestive place, the new edition of the Comfort Festival will be hosted, born in 2021 from an idea of the founder of Barley Arts Claudio Trotta: a festival dedicated to Roots, Blues, Soul, Country and Jersey Sound Music presented in a beautiful and natural urban location, with particular attention to the quality of the catering, with a ticket price/quality/quantity ratio of Music that is unmatched in all of Europe. Also in the Darsena is Un fiume di musica (July 4, D’Altro Canto in concert, gate opens at 8 pm, show starts at 9 pm).
EXHIBITIONS – As for exhibitions, it will be possible to visit the exhibition dedicated to the brilliant Escher at Palazzo dei Diamanti and the new exhibition space dedicated to Michelangelo Antonioni (Spazio Antonioni, Corso Porta Mare 5). At the Castello Estense, from July 5th they will host two new exhibitions: “Maurizio Bottoni. Eternal painting” and “Antonio Maria Nardi. The colors of life”, organized by the Ferrara Arte Foundation and the Art Museums Service of the Municipality of Ferrara.
