Juvi, starting on September 29th single round with 20 teams

The National Basketball League has made official the dates and formula for the Super Cup Final Four which will be played before the start of the A2 Championship. Following the conclusion of the championship reform process, we return to the old ways with the abolition of the qualifying phase, but only a Final Four that will award the trophy through semi-final and final matches, in a single location.

The teams that won the LNP trophies in the 2023/2024 season and the best ranked at the end of the playoffs (excluding those promoted to the higher championships) will automatically access the Final Four. This year, therefore, they will face each other Forli Basketballholder of the 2024 Italian Cup, OrziBasket Orzinuovi2024 Super Cup finalist (replacing Trapani Shark, promoted to Serie A), Fortitude Bolognaplayoff finalist and Cantu Basketball the other playoff finalist.

So for Juvi, a quiet pre-season waiting for the official debut on September 29th with the new formula of the A2 Championship.

Everything changes this year with the qualifying phase, which will take place in a single group of 20 teams. Each team will face the others in home and away matches, for a total of 38 games and 8 midweek rounds.

Goodbye therefore to the Clock phase, with only the first phase determining the fate of the teams, with objectives ranging from promotion to the play-offs, up to the fight to avoid relegation.

The first novelty concerns direct promotion: at the end of the qualifying phase, the team that finishes first will obtain direct promotion to Serie A for the 2025/2026 season. A coveted goal that will guarantee a tight competition until the last matchday. The teams classified from eighth to thirteenth place will participate in the Play-In, a preliminary phase to determine the last two teams that will access the play-offs. The first round of the Play-In includes single matches at the home of the best-ranked teams 10° vs 13° e 11° vs 12°, noIn the second round, the winners will compete to decide the last positions in the play-off grid. 8th vs winner 11th-12th and 9th vs winner 10th-13th.

The winners of the Play-Ins will therefore access the play-offs, together with the teams classified from 2nd to 7th place.. The play-off series will follow a Home-Home-Away-Away format. The team that triumphs in the play-off final will earn their second promotion to Serie A for the 2025/2026 season.

The fight to avoid relegation will also be fierce: the team ranked in 20th place will be directly relegated to Serie B, while the teams from 16th to 19th place will compete in the play-outs with the same format as the play-offs: 16th vs 19th and 17° vs 18°. The two losers in the play-offs will be relegated to Serie B.
