The White Night of Serravalle.
Friday 5th July in the historic centre.
The first edition of the event “The White Night of Serravalle” will be held on Friday 5 July, starting from 6.00 pm. The event will take place entirely in the historic center, which will be closed to traffic, while the shops will remain open.
The realization was also made possible thanks to the precious collaboration of the Pro Loco tourist association, the Serravallese traders association, the Chieketè historical and cultural association, the National Alpini Association, Libarna Arteventi and the Oltregiogo Fotografia Association.
Serravalle, with its two long central streets, has always been a transit area which makes it practically impossible to organize initiatives that involve and make the entire town pedestrian-friendly, without creating major inconveniences to traffic. This was the reason that pushed the Administration, which is keen to highlight the municipal territory as a whole, to organize events that involve the various areas of the country at different times.
On this occasion it was decided to focus on the historic center and the artisanal and commercial activities that animate the oldest village.
From 5pm the stretch of Via Berthoud that goes from Piazza Vittorio Veneto to the intersection with Piazza XXVI Aprile will be closed to traffic.
Starting from Piazza Vittorio Veneto you will find free inflatables for children, face painting, musical entertainment with the Serravalle Dj Forte, itinerant magic shows with Mago Malvin, the artistic and local craft market, refreshment points with local products and Food Truck, the Farinata De.Co of Serravalle and the Bar Sport with tables outside the premises; and then all those activities, such as the Pizzeria del Monumento, the Drogheria Sancristofaro, the Pasticceria Carrea with its delicious desserts and its De.Co, the Cantina Cervini with its wines and its excellences, the Historic Osteria “Tre Scalini” and the Bottega “Non Solo Lupi”, which will be open during the evening in the pedestrian area.
Places linked to archaeological and historical-artistic culture will also remain open during the evening, such as the Museum Area of Libarna, near the Municipal Palace, and the Oratori dei Rossi and dei Bianchi.
Among the events scheduled, we would like to highlight the one that will contribute to the valorization of Palazzo Grillo, one of the most important and suggestive historical buildings of Serravalle.
In the courtyard of the building, the Department of Culture and the CHIEKETÈ historical cultural association organize the event:
COLLECTING MEMORY.
From the Whiskeys of Scotland to the Serravalle di Gambarotta.
From 9.00 pm at Palazzo Grillo.
At 9.00 pm Giovanni Castanò will present his collection, among the most important in Italy, of bottles and objects linked to the production of Scotch whiskey and of bottles, gadgets and objects produced by Gambarotta, one of the historic factories of Serravalle and known nationally for the LIBARNA grappa with its unmistakable bottle;
At 10.00 pm, again in the courtyard of Palazzo Grillo, there will be a concert by the “Tri Martolod” group which will offer Breton music, Irish ballads and ancient English songs to immerse us in the typical atmosphere of the places of origin of whisky.
Various objects from the collection will be on display throughout the evening, from 6pm to midnight.
