The meetings took place on 26th June elections for the renewal of the RSU (United trade union representatives) of the plant Federal Mogul in Carpi (formerly Magneti Marelli), which is part of the American group Tenneco, a supplier to the automotive industry specializing in powertrain (coils, igniters and spark plugs), with approximately 80 employees.
In this election, the Fiom Cgil obtained 46 votes (equal to 72%) electing two RSUwhile Fim Cisl, the second union, obtained 18 votes (equal to 28%) and elected an RSU.
“These have been challenging years for the RSU and for Federal Mogul workers – states Manuele Fright Federal Mogul Fiom Cgil Carpi official – the persistent crisis in the automotive sector and the post-pandemic effects have also been felt within the Carpi plant where Fiom has always protected workers and business continuity with great determination”.
Since the beginning of the year, in the Carpi district, 7 RSU have been renewed in the same number of metalworking companies where Fiom Cgil has won all the available RSU and RLS (Worker Safety Representatives) delegates. Of these 7 renewed RSU, 2 were elected for the first time, demonstrating Fiom Cgil’s ability to represent new working realities.
The percentage of Fiom Cgil representation rises to over 95% in the metalworking companies of the district that elect the RSU, for a group of approximately 1,900 employees. The Fiom Cgil area of Carpi thanks the workers for the trust and wishes good work to the elected RSU/RLS.
