The first event will take place on Monday 1st July at the prestigious Sala Esperienza Europa “David Sassoli” Piazza Venezia 6/C – Rome: “Science&Sport 2024” signed by the Lab “I Codici della Vittoria” with the Pasteur Italia research institute, chaired by Luigi Frati and directed by Professor Santoni and in collaboration with Panathlon International Italy.
The 2nd Career Award: “Europe and Sport… a Value for Life”, will go to Francesco Damiani, President of Anzio Waterpolis. Chosen by the commission for having succeeded in sport, for achieving sporting successes without neglecting the important social objective.
The event is part of the usual annual review: “Sport a Smile for Life…Beyond Barriers and Borders!”.
During the television event, the entire path of “Scienza&Sport 2024” will be presented.
In the morning we will talk about the work of the documentary film: “Sconfitte e Vittorie… Una Vita in Salita”, from the first and second book: “I Codici della Vittoria” which will convey three social messages: the importance of the Values of Sport and therefore of ethical sport for young people; the biomedical research of the Pasteur Institute Italy; Social Respect and the prevention of violence against women and children.
“I am flattered to have been named sports manager of the year – comments Francesco Damiani – I thank the authoritative commission for thinking of myself. The Pasteur Institute Italy and Panathlon International represent two large international entities involved in the world of research, the values of sport and life. So it is an award of great importance for me. Both in Anzio and previously in Latina, we competed at the highest levels of water polo without ever neglecting the social aspect of the sport. Attention to young people and start-ups has always been a primary objective. I want to give the message that it may be a sacrifice to try to match the two objectives but not impossible…”.
