Massive tax evasion with a transport company: this is the discovery made by the Guardia di Finanza in the context of a judicial police investigation for serious hypotheses of tax crimes, which led to the execution, on behalf of the Latina Public Prosecutor’s Office, of a preventive seizure order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Latina.
The investigations concerned a company active in the road transport sector which, according to what has been reconstructed, from 2018 to 2023 failed to pay VAT and withholdings made towards approximately 1000 employees, located throughout the national territory, for approximately 20 million euros.
The complex information, analysis and accounting review activities conducted by the Guardia di Finanza of Aprilia have allowed the collection of detailed evidence, in support of the accusation, to hypothesize the violations of omitted tax payments. On the basis of the elements collected, the judge for preliminary investigations, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, has ordered the preventive seizure against the legal representative of the company, direct and in the form of “equivalent”, aimed at confiscation, of money and goods for a total amount of 19,442,852 euros, as profit of the alleged crimes, or “omitted payment of withholdings due or certified”, “omitted payment of VAT”.
The execution of the measure came at the end of a targeted activity of the Guardia di Finanza to identify the sums in current accounts, deposits or other banking relationships, as well as to reconstruct the assets of the movable or immovable property registered to the subjects involved. Specifically, sums of cash, financial assets, current accounts, share funds for approximately 3 million euros, 5 properties for a value of approximately 700 thousand euros, company shares and vehicles of various kinds were seized for subsequent recovery to the Treasury, up to the full amount of the preventive seizure.
