Successes with Trapani
In 2022, Antonini entered the world of professional football by purchasing 70% of Trapani Calcio, a Sicilian club that played in Serie D. During his first season as owner (2023/24), he led Trapani to promotion to Serie C, thanks to a strategic market that saw the arrival of high-calibre players such as Oliver Kragl, Andrea Palermo and Andrea Cocco.
Trapani finished Group I of Serie D in first place, also reaching the final of the Poule Scudetto, albeit losing against Campobasso. Despite the defeat, Trapani celebrated their promotion to Serie C and the victory of the Serie D Cup.
