The Extensions Festival in Val Pesarina.

Meetings with the author, music, readings, workshops and then the unmissable walks: this year too the Festival “Extensions. Inside Border Literatures” – with the artistic direction of the cultural association Bottega Errante, created thanks to the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Friuli Foundation, the Municipality of Prato Carnico and Pro Loco Val Pesarina – is ready to amaze the public with a rich program of events that will liven up Val Pesarina from 5 to 7 July.

The choice of has also been confirmed for the third edition to make known the natural beauties and landscapes of the Valley of Time, through some guided walks. The entire program is available on www.festivalestensioni.it.

The excursions.

After the opening (July 5th at 6pm) which will see the participation of Paolo Rumiz with the “Route to Lepanto”, Saturday 6th July the day will open with a walk along the “Troi dai Salvadis” (cancelled in case of bad weather): a circular route of 4.5 km length, and a difference in altitude of 100 meters. The meeting point for participants is at 8.30, in Piazza del Campanile, in Prato Carnico.

The walk (organised by the Municipality) will start from there and will develop along paths and forest roads between the villages of Prico, Luch and Coi. The route will cross beech, chestnut and spruce forestsbut also small clearings and mown meadows. Along the ring it will be possible to observe the silhouettes of the animals that inhabit the valleyspecies that interact in some way with human activities and whose knowledge is essential for correct coexistence.

Also Sunday 7th Julythe final day of the Festival, will open with a walk, this time at the Stavoli of Orias (by Pro Loco Val Pesarina). This is one of the most beautiful places in the Valley that will be described for the occasion by a guide who will describe the territory, nature, geography and history of one of the most evocative paths in the valley.

Il meeting point is on the Pieria bridge (in case of bad weather the walk will be cancelled) from there you will follow a path, partly made of asphalt road, of 2 and a half kilometers, with a difference in altitude of 320 meters. Right at Stavoli, at 11, it is scheduled the meeting with Paolo Costain dialogue with Daniele Zongaro, entitled “The art of the essential”: aphilosophical excursion among meadows, peaks, screes and woods.

“Extensions – Inside Border Literatures” is a project created thanks to the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Friuli Foundation, the Municipality of Prato Carnico and Pro Loco Val Pesarina with the artistic direction of the cultural association Bottega Errante.

The event was enriched by the participation of numerous partners (University of Udine, Damatrà onlus, Alpe Adria Cinema Association) and by the collaboration with numerous local entities (near/far mountain, Radio Tausia, Quo Vadis? bookshop in Pordenone, I gufi della luna, “Amici dell’Orologeria Pesarina” APS association, Prato and Prico districts, “Amici di Osais” cultural association, Ancora amateur sports association, Noi in Val Pesarina association, Pesariis district administration, Sostasio districts, Val Pesarina ski club, SS. Filippo e Giacomo AP parish – Pesariis, San Canciano Martire parish – Prato, Pesariis watchmaking museum, Casa Bruseschi Pesariis museum).

“Voci a Est” is a section of the Festival “Estensioni – Dentro le letteratura di confine” which enriches the programme and connects productive activities with creativity. It is a project realized thanks to the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. “Voci a Est” has numerous partners: Bottega Errante Edizioni, Vicino/Lontano Cultural Association, Štěpán Zavřel Foundation, Giovanni da Udine New Theater Foundation, Locanda Devetak 1870. In collaboration with Cooperativa Itaca and Comunità Nove (Parco Sant’Osvaldo).
