Risk of mafia infiltration. A company in the Alto Ferrarese area has been banned

The Prefecture of Ferrara has issued an anti-mafia ban against a company operating in the Alto Ferrarese area.

The provision arises from an application presented to the offices of Corso Ercole I d’Este for registration in the list of suppliers, service providers and executors of works not subject to attempted mafia infiltration (white list) at the Prefecture.

The ban was issued as a precaution on the basis of an in-depth investigation conducted by the offices of the Prefecture and the police from which prejudicial elements emerged against some subjects linked by family relationships with the owner of the company.

On the basis of these critical elements that emerged from the preliminary investigation activities, the Prefecture believes that there are sufficient clues to evaluate a probable risk of conditioning of the company by organized crime circles, such as to advise against the establishment of relationships with the public administration .

It is important to highlight that, in this case, the ban, while not implying a clear presence of mafia organizations on the territory, aims to prevent risks and protect the integrity of the local economic fabric. The company involved will be subject to restrictions, but the main objective is to guarantee a healthy business environment free from criminal influences.

Prefect Massimo Marchesiello underlined the importance of keeping attention high on these phenomena and of continuing action.
