Gorla Minore is ready for the most beautiful challenge, the Palio is back

The weeks flew by and, finally, the long-awaited June 30th arrived. On this date, circled in red on the calendar, the Palio di Gorla Minore will return.

Last year, after thirty years of absence, a great effort that had united the Palio Committee, the Municipal Administration and an army of enthusiastic volunteers, had revived the passion for the event in the town.
In 2023 it had been the Üona district to win the first edition of “Waiting for the Palio”a “light” taste of the event, wanted by the organizers to familiarize the people of Gorle with the new districts, Üona, precisely, together with Barsanela, Desert and Fountain.

The presidents of the districts, together with the coordination groups of each faction, have recruited participants in the competitions in recent months, trying to also encourage citizens to participate in dinners, gatherings, as well as to color their homes with the colored festoons of the four districts.

Even at Girinvalle the four judges brought a smile to their fellow citizens’ faces, contributing to the growth of the competitive spirit, of agonism, but always in the spirit of sportsmanship and friendship.

The enthusiasm for the Palio di Gorla Minore has crossed the borders of the country: in fact, several people responded to the invitation to citizens of neighboring municipalities to make themselves available as judges, and will enrich the races thanks to their presence.

Everything is ready, then: we will begin Sunday 30 June with the parade, which will allow you to grab valuable and important points for the competition. Thanks to Gorlongahowever, the teams already start with a provisional ranking, given by the number of participants in the non-competitive race last winter: Desertu had the upper hand, followed by the Füntanin district, in third place the Barsanela district and finally Üona.
