CLAMP’s Magic Knights Return

The official X account of the historic series has announced that a new animated project dedicated to Magic Knight Rayeartha 1994 CLAMP manga, to celebrate the work’s thirtieth anniversary.
The format has not yet been specified, but a promotional video has been released showing the thirtieth anniversary logo, a poster showing the three protagonists from behind, and several clips from the old animated series.
Hikaru, Umi and Fuu, three middle school students, find themselves on the same day on a school trip to Tokyo Tower when suddenly they hear a voice calling for help, immediately followed by a flash, and find themselves catapulted into a mysterious world, Cephiro.
From the monk Clef they learn their mission: to become Magic Knights and grant Princess Emeraude’s wish. After initial uncertainty, they understand the importance of their task and with commitment they face obstacles and difficulties.
Magic Knight Rayearth It was published on Nakayoshi of the publishing house Kodansha between 1994 and 1995 in two series of three volumes each. In the same years, an anime in 49 episodes (divided into two series) was made by Tokyo Movie Shinshawhich was followed in 1997 by a series of three OVAs telling a retelling of the story.
In Italy, the rights to the manga are owned by Star Comicswhich initially published it in installments, since 1995, on the container Young – The monthly magazine of fantasy. A first edition in small volumes, with Western layout, was published in 1998, while a second, more deluxe edition with Japanese layout was produced in 2010.
The anime was broadcast in 1998 on Mediasetwith the title A door ajar at the edge of the sun and numerous censorships that have also changed the meaning of the iconic finale of the first series. A redubbed and integral home video edition was made by Yamato Videowhich still owns the rights to the work and recently announced a new DVD edition.
