Sunday 30 June, at 8.30am, immerse yourself in the history and beauty of Castellammare di Stabia with an event dedicated to the rediscovery of its historic waters. The initiative, organized by the newborn Participatory Foundation “Parco delle Acque di Stabia”chaired by Nino Di Maio, aims to bring to light the Stabia identity of “City of Water” and raise awareness among citizens of the importance of local water heritage.
A fascinating journey
Led by the hydrogeologist from Stabia Marcus Caesariusparticipants will venture out to discover the Ferrata and Visanola springs, the latter almost unknown to most. The journey will begin at “Circolo della Legalità” in Corso Garibaldi, 6where Prof. Cesario will introduce those present to the fascinating history and relevance of the Stabia springs.
A heritage to be rediscovered
For about 10 years, the people of Stabia have been unable to fully enjoy their environmental treasure: the water. This heritage, in light of the looming threat of global warming, takes on crucial importance for the entire planet. However, for too long, it has been neglected and forgotten, risking disappearing from the memory of new generations. Much of this wealth is bound by a testamentary legacy which guarantees its free use to the citizens of Stabia, but which has been made inaccessible for years.
