For the third consecutive day no trains between Faenza and Marradi, with great inconvenience for commuters, due to the high risk of landslides on the route. Trenitalia reports that from 5.40 this morning railway traffic between Faenza and Marradi, on the Faentina railway, is suspended following the orange color code alert, issued for that area by the Emilia Romagna Region and by the simultaneous alert launched by the SANF.

The SANF, National Alert System for the prediction of possible landslides, detects with sensors the possible phenomena induced by rain along the railway infrastructure, seriously damaged following the floods of May 2023. The reactivation of the service is expected once the alert has been lifted and after checks on the infrastructure by RFI technicians.

The procedure

As per the procedure agreed with the transport companies and the Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna Regions, bus trips are planned with a possible increase in travel times also in relation to road traffic (attached are the bus trip times scheduled for today ).

Updates in the Infomobility section of RFI and on the Infomobility pages of Trenitalia.

The system developed in collaboration with the CNR IRPI, one of the most important centers of expertise of the Department of Civil Protection, allows rail circulation to be suspended in advance, avoiding potential stops of trains on the line and promptly activating an alternative mobility service.
