There is not only the need for gender rebalancing among the issues to be resolved for the new mayor Adriana Poli Bortone in view of the construction of the new one Junta. If the center-right has found unity and cohesion at the polls, it is on the composition of the new Executive of the city government and on the assignment of delegations and roles that the first fires could be lit among the ranks of the majority. With the polls closed, the counting completed and the victory brought home, it is already time for the toto-assessors for the parties and movements of the coalition. And already in the last few hours hypotheses of schemes and games of interlocking have been chasing each other in an attempt to find the squaring of the circle.
The only certainty at the moment is that relating to the allocation of seats. Majority award for the centre-right coalition and 20 seats in the city council. Instead, 11 will sit in the Assizes for the centre-left advisors elected in addition to the outgoing mayor, Carlo Salvemini, to whom the seat in the Council is automatically assigned. “The first seat assigned to each minority list is assigned to the candidate for the office of mayor of the same list” states, in fact, Article 71 of the election legislation.
Majority
In relation to the majority and based on the electoral result of the ten lists in support of the senator, Fratelli d’Italia is the first party in the coalition and takes home four seats. And two councillors, at least on paper. To be reconfirmed at Palazzo Carafa will first of all be the outgoing councillor, Roberto Giordano Anguilla and Andrea Pasquino. Both should rightfully become part of the new Poli Bortone Executive. But there are already those among the experts who include Giordano Anguilla in the ranks of candidates for the position of deputy mayor. The outgoing and re-elected member also has FdI shares in the Council Oronzino Tramacere and the new entry Maria Luisa Greco. But with Giordano Anguilla and Pasquino councilors, and therefore resigning, the party of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni could also express in the Council Fabiola De Giovanni And Monica Faggianorespectively first and second of the non-elected.
There will be three seats for Io Sud, the Poli Bortone list which obtained an 8% victory at the polls: they will enter the chamber Gianpaolo Scorrano, Massimo Fragola and Tonia Erriquez. Certainly a department for Scorrano, the most voted in the civic body and very loyal to the senator. And a slot that becomes free in the Council to make room for Rosaria Stabilebefore the non-elected. Councilorship in sight also for Bernardo Monticelli Cuggiò, first of those elected in Prima Lecce, the civic reference of the senator of the League, Roberto Marti. But it is not excluded that being part of the Executive – falling within the 40% of the pink quotas foreseen for the composition of the Council – will also be Laura Calò. The former Prime Minister is also ready to return to the Chamber, Carlo Mignone. With Monticelli Cuggiò and Calò delegates of the new Poli government, space among the ranks of the majority also for Bronek Pankiewicz and Damiano D’Autilia.
For Andrea Guido, the most voted in the coalition with around 1,400 preferences on the UDC – Puglia list. A popular double option: a department or the alternative of the presidency of the Council. In addition to the outgoing and reconfirmed councilor, Guido, the centrists at Palazzo Carafa will also be able to count on the support of Gianmarco Pagliaro.
A certain department also for the Salento Region Movement of the regional councilor, Paolo Pagliaro. And in pole position is the newly elected councilor Giancarlo Capoccia. But the outgoing and re-elected person will also return to the Council, Gianmaria Greco. And again, the outgoing councilor will enter for Forza Italia Luciano Battista who could enter the council and Luca Russo. If Battista takes over the delegations, a seat in the Azzurri quota will also go to the former administrator, Paul Cairo.
Two seats for Lecce Futura – the list of the outgoing but not re-nominated councillor, Giorgio Pala – which he promotes Luigi Quarta Colossus and Maurizio Botrugno. The League, with 2.37%, will only get one seat, that of the former councilor Severo Martini. The option of passing through the presidency of the Council is also being evaluated for Martini.
The Tutta Lecce list for Lisi, finally, expresses Sofia Lupothe youngest councilor of the Assise. And for her inspirer Ugo Lisi a list of options is being considered. The name of the former deputy of Alleanza Nazionale until last February had remained in the running – together with that of Pagliaro – in the race for the candidacy for mayor. Then the step aside of both and the road cleared for the senator for the race for Palazzo Carafa. A game that Lisi played in the role of coach of the Tutta Lecce list. Availability that now the new mayor could reciprocate by offering the former Aennino parliamentarian the role of deputy mayor. But it is not excluded that for Lisi the path could open up to one of the companies participated by the Municipality that the deputy could lead in the new role of manager. We will see. Finally, according to those in the know, the hypothesis that an external, and therefore technical, department could be entrusted to the lawyer is not excluded, Francesca Conte. The well-known criminal lawyer from Lecce ran on the Io Sud list and during the electoral campaign she was present alongside the senators on most occasions. Commitment in the field which could now translate into delegations to be managed. So far the majority.
Therefore, the centre-left opposition.
Next to the former mayor Carlo Salveminiimmediately after the proclamation, the representatives of the Democratic Party will be sitting on the opposition benches: the former councilor Paolo Foresiopreference champion with 1,400 votes, and the former deputy mayor Sergio Signore. But also the outgoing city councilor Antonio Rotundothe new wntry Loredana Di Cuonzo.
Two candidates were elected by Lecce Città Pubblico, Salvemini’s civic body of reference, which obtained 7.52%: the former councilor Silvia Miglietta (bordering on 900) and the former delegate for Culture, Fabiana Cicirillo. Same number of representatives for Coscienza Civica, first of the lists of the regional councilor, Alessandro Delli Noci who almost reaches 7.35%: those entering the Council will be the already councilor Christian Gnoni and the outgoing councillor Toni De Matteis. Only one seat for the civic Avanti Lecce, chosen by over 5% of voters and represented in the Assizes by John OcchineriNoi for Lecce, at 4.05%, will be in the Council with Andrea Fiore and Sveglia Lecce, with 3.5%, with the former councilor Marco De Matteis. Nothing to be done for Lecce Città Giusta, M5S and Reformists for Salvemini who will remain outside the civic assembly.
Even the mayoral candidates who presented themselves in the first round against Poli Bortone and Salvemini will not enter the council. Agostino Ciucci, despite the document of understanding with the centre-right candidate, will not have a place on the benches having achieved 1.71% and only 890 votes, as well as the civic Alberto Siculella who obtained 837 equal to 1.6% of the votes preferences of Lecce voters.
