“Breathe. Work, person, territory” the first day of Umbria 2024

After the editions held in recent years in Dobbiaco, L’Aquila and Camigliatello Silano, the Mountain Days created by the Fai Cisl and its Study and Research Foundation are back, on the theme: “Breathe. Work, person, territory”

The venue of the event this year is Assisi, a symbolic place for environmental sustainability and attention to creation. Scholars, communicators, artists, representatives of institutions and the productive world, meet to reflect on the themes of ecological transition, the effects of climate change, the protection and development of internal areas, land consumption, the enhancement of forest heritage, starting from the central role that workers in these sectors have.

“Breathe. Work, person, territory” is therefore an opportunity to relaunch the link between the world of work and environmental and agri-food vocations, forestation, aquaculture, land reclamation, the repopulation of rural villages and the strengthening of agricultural and livestock supply chains . In the awareness that only with a strong pact between institutions, unions, businesses and the world of research, will it be possible to face the ongoing transformations by concretely combining environmental, social and economic sustainability.

The first day was opened by the Secretary General Onofrio Rota, followed by Simone Dezi, Secretary General Fai-Cisl Umbria. The protagonists of the morning were then the Mayor Stefania Proietti, Paolo De Castro, former President of the EU Agriculture Commission, Michele Bellini, author of the book “Let’s save Europe. Eight words to rewrite the future”, the economist Leonardo Becchetti, professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the demographer Sabrina Prati, Central Director Istat, while the conclusions were entrusted to Daniela Fumarola, Deputy Secretary General of the Cisl.
