MODENA. The issue is now closed, even if as someone points out, the last 48 hours are the most dangerous. After all, the real problems are now in the hands of the Democratic Party, and concern the presidency of the Council, a role which, considering that there are only 4 positions in the council for the party, becomes highly coveted. But as far as Massimo Mezzetti’s council is concerned, the game is now over, with the 9 councilors of the team having been identified. Before passing the names, there is the question of timing: always following the principle that the last hours are the most dangerous, the mayor’s idea is to close and present the council as soon as possible, and therefore before the city council debut set for Monday afternoon. As a result, the new team will be presented as early as this afternoon (Friday 28 June).
All the names
That said, here are the names of the “fantastic 9” who will support the mayor. Starting from the “Mezzetti quota”, the one on which the mayor “did not want to give an inch”, to quote some members of the Democratic Party, the first name is that of Alessandra Camporota: the prefect of Modena, Mezzetti’s real “hit”, will join the team from August 1st, when he will officially retire, and will have the delegation for Security, and probably a part of Social Policies, which could be “split”. The other name wanted by the mayor is that of the urban planner Carla Ferrariwho will have the delegations for Urban Planning and Territorial Planning. Moving on to the Democratic Party, the assessors will be 4, namely the regional councilor Francesca Malettiwho will probably be deputy mayor, but without the delegation to Welfare – he could have the School, or a part of the social policies “unpacked” – the former councilor for Culture Andrea Bortolamasiwho will be confirmed in his role, the former head of Cabinet of Mayor Muzzarelli Julius Guerzoniwhich will probably have the Public Works, and the city secretary Federica Venturelli (Youth policies and universities). Moving on to the allies, for Avs, the red-green alliance, the councilor will be Vittorio Molinaria name that was agreed upon during the meeting on Wednesday evening. This is a figure very much appreciated by Mayor Mezzetti, and who, like the mayor, comes from the Sel world, while from a professional point of view, he is one of the founders of the cooperative “La Lumaca”, and has held roles as auditor and administrator in numerous associations and companies. Molinari will be responsible for the Budget, and probably also for the Environment.
As for the M5S, it enters the council Barbara Moretti, while Giovanni Silingardi, confirmed in the Assembly, could aim for the Regional Council in November. To close the team is Paolo Zancaprovincial commissioner of Azione, who has a direct connection with Mayor Mezzetti.
