The dancers of IN Ballet, with the founder of the school Ilenia Nobile and their teachers, accompanied by very proud parents, visited the Rho Town Hall. During this special meeting, held in recent days, the young people told the sports councilor Alessandra Borghetti and the deputy mayor Maria Rita Vergani the important news concerning them, including the trip to New York of two girls, accompanied by family members and other students, for a scholarship awarded in 2023 which will take them to lessons within a week, at the end of August , in five important dance schools in the Big Apple: Alvin Ailey School, Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, Limòn.

IN Ballet is an amateur dance sports association that has been consolidated for eight years now, even if the beginnings date back to seventeen years ago, when a small group was formed and gradually grew. «Before we had neither a location nor a name, we started at the skate park, then we asked to use the Auditorium, the speaker rooms, the municipal gyms – explained Ilenia Nobile – Now we are stable and we want to grow. Every year we like to reward those who have invested that little bit more that deserve recognition. Every two years we carry out exams that focus on academic performance and two of our girls have won a scholarship that includes a trip to New York on August 24th. In fact there will be eleven of us leaving, for everyone it will be a week of training, study and in-depth analysis”.

They are Giada Macrilló, 17 years old, and Giada Marrapese, 18 years old. They will combine theory and practice in high-level training schools. Among those who will act as “escort” will be Michele Marrapese, a father from the Board of Directors of the association who is also part of the “Only for Dad” project, born among those who find themselves accompanying their daughters, between one pizza party and another post essay final they decided to create a group that proposed choreographies.

Alessandra Borghetti congratulated the two dancers but also the parents: «I always thank mothers and fathers who, in the world of sport, multiply their commitments, going to bring and pick up their children for training and competitions – he said – Thank you because you have understood how sport and dance shape our children’s character. It has been proven that kids who play sports graduate with the highest grades and in a short time, this is because they learn to organize themselves, know how to accept defeats and tensions and work towards objectives.”

Maria Rita Vergani added: «You parents and teachers have also demonstrated how important teamwork is, a concrete example for your children. Together we go further. I ask you to pay attention to your scholastic and cultural education: study! And I wish you to experience a special journey: traveling opens the mind, allows you to get to know the world, it is fundamental for young people. Cultivate your talents, wealth for our community, and look outward. I say thank you to the parents, it’s nice to see that you got involved, because their children absorb teachings like sponges. Not so much from words, but from facts. Go on like this!”.

Ilenia Nobile responded to the appeal to the studio by recalling that In Ballet has established a mini library for the culture connected to dance. Then he announced the new scholarships for this 2024: Elena Giaramitelli, eleven years old, for scholastic merit. Martina Bricchetti, nine years old and has not missed a single lesson, due to merit and presence. Valeria Crespi, twenty-three years old, for scholastic merit. Valeria has Down Syndrome and a very strong passion for dance which led her to successfully attend a classical dance course at the school, becoming an example of valid inclusion.

Another new feature concerns the Pre-Professional section.

Nine passed the audition to join the Pro Group: Agata Borghi 14 years old, Valentina Tosello 12, Aurora Marrapese 21, Giada Marrapese 18, Giada Macrillò 17, Amanda Tomassetti 14, Aurora Guerci 18, Marta Angelini 15, Letizia Cevasco 14. Floriana and Marica, two mothers, spoke about the “Noi con voi” group, a multidisciplinary school where dance experimentation is open to all. For eleven years, children and adults with intellectual or motor disabilities have been protagonists of theatrical shows, a concrete example of respect, of the ability to look beyond limits and manage any difficulty.

Thanks to Ilenia Nobile another progress: «In Italy – explained the teacher – there was no path to train dance teachers in terms of the evolutionary development of the child with evolution towards adulthood and inclusion. I have fought for years for things to change here. Two years ago I got the green light for the two-year national diploma training program and I’m proud of it. Veronica Grazioli (teacher and head of the 0-6 year old childhood department), together with Aurora Marrapese (teacher), have finished the first year of training and are about to start the second”.
