He was stopped during the night son of the elderly couple killed at home in Fano, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, on Monday morning. According to what we learn, Luca Ricci collapsed after 16 hours of interrogation: “I killed them because they wouldn’t give me any more money“, he would have admitted. The 50-year-old, separated and father of two children, is accused of double murder aggravated by cruelty and kinship. Following the confession, the suspect was taken to Pesaro prison.

Suspicions about the couple’s son

It was the 50-year-old who alerted 112 yesterday morning. Luca Ricci told the Flying Squad officers who intervened in the house in Via Fanella, where the crime took place, that he had come across the lifeless bodies of his parents and called for help. A version that did not convince the investigators, since the man immediately distanced himself from the incident. Afterwards Ricci was taken to the police station to be interviewed as a person informed of the facts. At the end of theinterrogation in front of the prosecutor Maria Letizia Fucci, who coordinates the investigations, the arrest was made.

The confession: “They didn’t give me any more money”

At first the 50-year-old would have been rather reticent: “I do not remember“, he continued to repeat. But as the hours passed, his position worsened. From the first investigations it emerged, in fact, that the man had developed some debts and his parents’ house had been sold at auction for sixty thousand euros. When cornered, Ricci then confessed: “Yes, I killed my parents, I had more debts but they didn’t want to give me more money“.

The mother strangled and the father killed with a hammer

It all started around 2 am between Sunday and Monday. Ricci said he went down to his parents’ apartment (he lives upstairs) because his mother, Luisa Marconi, 70 years old, was not well: “I went to take her blood pressure“, he explained. Immediately afterwards a heated argument arose with the woman: “I needed more money, but she told me ‘stop’“. An answer that the 50-year-old would not have digested, to the point of deciding to strangle her with a lanyard. Immediately afterwards he headed to the bedroom: he grabbed a hammer and then attacked his father, Giuseppe Ricci, 75 years old. The man, who tried to defend himself while half asleep, was hit repeatedly in the head.

In the following minutes the suspect got rid of the weapon, throwing it into a well in the garden behind the house. At that point he returned to the house, changed his blood-stained clothes and waited a few hours before calling for help.
