The event has become a classic, so much so that we have reached the 14th edition. Moncalieri is preparing to do a dive into the Middle Agesreturning for a weekend to experience the sensations and atmospheres of the period of the Knights Templar, with the historical re-enactment of the birth of the city and the Ancient archery tournament.

Appointment on Saturday and Sunday at the Lancia park

An appointment that is confirmed in the suggestive setting of Lancia Park of Borgata Testona, allowing us to relive a glimpse of the end of the 1100s on the origins of Montiscalerii hey Templars in the territory. On Saturday (from 10am to 11pm) and Sunday (from 9am to 6pm) the park will revive the atmosphere of the Middle Ages, including period costumes, weapons and settings.

The historical heritage of a city is an inalienable asset that must be constantly preserved and re-evaluated in order to allow new generations to know and appreciate local history“, underlined the mayor of Moncalieri Paul Mountain. “It is an event that is aimed at all age groups, with the aim of attracting visitors to our Municipality. Its strong point lies in the ability to re-propose moments of daily life of the time”.

Jump into the Middle Ages with ad hoc curtains and scenography

An accurate scenography will be created with the installation of dozens of historic tents, complete with banners, weapons, armor and the presence of hundreds of figures who will animate this historical fresco, creating an atmosphere of medieval life that will certainly have a firm hold on the public. “Spectacular during the day with fighting competitions, ancient archery and historical re-enactment. Even more fascinating as evening falls with the equestrian showsCeltic music and fire juggling” Montagna added.

Historical groups also arriving from abroad

The big news this year will also be the participation of around thirty historic groups, coming from all over the province, but in some cases also from abroad. Two associations are arriving from Spain, one from Switzerland and another from France.

Those who love the challenges of knights from times gone by, who love sagas with cloak and sword, weapons and period costumes, really can’t miss it.
