Dossena, Nicola and Luperto. A three-way plot in the near future of Cagliari. A triangle of movements on the market that influences the short-term reflections of the rossoblù club, but the liquidity index has nothing to do with it. Or rather it is not a problem, but an opportunity for the Sardinians. Let’s look at the situation in detail.
Dossena
For several days Cagliari has found a square with the How for the sale of the central defender Alberto Dossena. Dossena has tried to buy time while waiting for a relaunch, especially from of the Bologna given that the dream remains to play in the next Champions League, but for the moment no team has matched Como’s proposal. And the impression is that in the next few hours the central defender who dreams of the national team, after two seasons in Sardiniawill leave Asseminello to move to Lombardy, accepting the court of the club listed as the richest in the Italian top flight.

What does Dossena have to do with the Davide Nicola and Sebastiano Luperto affair? In fact it’s all a question of fits. Cagliari after seasons with many problems with the liquidity indicator, from several championships consistently in the negative, this year – as announced by the sporting director Nereo Bonato himself – has returned to having more room for maneuver in this aspect in terms of the transfer market. Passing out in June to snatch Davide Nicola and Sebastiano Luperto from Empoli would mean insert two revenues into the expiring budget and burden the accounts again which would thus return to being a factor in summer negotiations. The possible sale of Dossena by the end of the month, on the contrary, would allow for to accelerate also economically on the Nicola-Luperto front, with the Sardinians not wanting to be grabbed by the neck by the Tuscans for a definitive deal with the coach. Having said that from the first of July Empoli would have a payroll for both Nicola and the new coach Roberto D’Aversa. Therefore, Cagliari does not need to sell Alberto Dossena, but if they sold Dossena to Como in the next few days they could accelerate to close the Nicola-Luperto deal together. Appearance that would allow speed up the dialogue with Empoli, always looking for financial compensation to free the man who is in all respects his former coach.
