It’s almost time for the 12th edition of the White Night of Salernoscheduled in four squares of Salerno on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July, organized by Fenailp, the National Autonomous Federation of Entrepreneurs and Freelancers and presented this morning at the Salerno Chamber of Commerce.
Friday 5 July at 8.30pm at the Maremò Beach Club, the journalist Attilio Romita will host an evening of celebration which will culminate with the awarding of four prizes. The “Notte Bianca Salerno” Award in memory of the Salerno artist Luciano Schiavone will be awarded to Salerno artists who have distinguished themselves in entertainment, culture, art, professions and sport at a national and international level. The recognition will be divided into two sections: New Generation and Special Awards. The first will go to Giulio Della Monica, actor from Salerno, protagonist of the Rai TV series “Per Elisa – Il caso Claps”. The second to Vittoriana Abate, Rai journalist and presenter, as well as writer and author of programs such as Porta a Porta, and to Angelo Di Gennaro, who this year celebrates 40 years of activity as a “comedian at the service of the citizen”.
The Andrea Carrano Award, in memory of the Knight of Labor and hotel entrepreneur from Ravello, will be collected by Don Tonino Palmese, Salesian and President of the Polis Foundation of the Campania Region, established to support the families of innocent victims of organized crime, and guarantor for the Municipality of Naples for the rights of prisoners.
It will also be an edition in the name of Paolo Morelli. On Saturday 6 July at 5pm, in the Genovesi Hall of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce, there will be a presentation of the debut novel by the guitarist of Alunni del Sole, Bruno Morelli, who remembers his brother in the book “Alunni del Sole. Paolo Morelli, l ‘inventor of harmony’. During the meeting, a painting by his brother Paolo, musician and painter, worth over 15 thousand euros, which Morelli decided to donate to the chamber of commerce, will be revealed.
The White Night will be divided into two evenings: Saturday 6 July from 10pm, in Piazza Monsignor Grasso in Mercatello, there will be a concert by the Alunni del Sole, followed by Angelo Di Gennaro. At the same time, in Piazza della Libertà in the Pastena district, Demo Morselli will perform with Marcello Cirillo and Peppe Iodice. In Piazza G. Gloriosi in Torrione, there will be the 90s Mash Up Live, followed by Ciccio Merolla. Sunday 7 Julythe Notte Bianca will move to the center of Salerno with Gigi Fartigianato’s concert in Piazza Portanova.
The comedian was also present at the press conference Angelo Di Gennaro, who declared: “I am celebrating my 40 years of activity in Salerno. For me it was essential to be here. I have a visceral connection with the city. Salerno was like a doctor for me. When I was younger, there was a period in which I gave up, I no longer wanted to do this job; Salerno gave me a reason to continue. I will never stop loving Salerno.”
From 5pm on 6 July until 3am on 7 July, a free shuttle service will be guaranteed between Stadio Arechi and Via Leucosia, with return. The metro will run until 3am on July 7, with the last run at 2am on July 8.
