In recent weeks the idea of the Colombian’s possible departure towards Mexico, specifically to Cruz Azul, had been feared. Then the president of the Central American club Velazquez and the agent of the former Atalanta Fernando Schena thought about denying the existence of a concrete negotiation, thus removing any doubt about Duvan’s stay under the Mole. From Sanabria’s replacement to the reserves
Starting from the most disappointing, one cannot fail to mention Antonio Sanabria, whose 12 goals from the previous season were more than halved, thus generating a series of doubts about his reliability. The Paraguayan from his side has a contract expiring in 2026, which is also why Toro will try to raise cash, for a figure that stands at or exceeds ten million euros. It is difficult for him to be reconfirmed, as is Pietro Pellegri. The striker born in 2001 ended the season well: good performances with Milan and Atalanta, after the goal against Verona. It’s a shame that Bentegodi’s match was the only one of an entire year in which his body was less severe on him, after a youth in football plagued by injuries. The numbers, however, were not worth the investment. David Okereke, on the other hand, is certain to be part of the team, having arrived in January on loan from Cremonese and where he will return on 30 June. 9 appearances and 0 goals. There were no big expectations and, paradoxically, he confirmed them. Apart from the good performance of Udine, which was practically inconsistent throughout this second part of the season. With these premises, director Vagnati will certainly not spend a summer yawning from boredom. There are flaws, now it’s up to him to devise the best strategy.
