The new Pgt of Legnano defined as the “City of relationships” for the civic lists Insieme per Legnano and Legnano Popolare is “a dream come true”. He also supports it with a certain emotion the former mayor Crespi, founder of Insieme per Legnano: «I read about the approval of the PGT and what ideas motivated the drafting of this plan. I was particularly moved, and made me dream, by the “City of relationships”, a concept that we have desired since the beginning of our mandate in the City Council in 2007. Even though I am no longer active in politics, I continue to feel part of the project of Together for Legnano, which I hope will always lead to commitment to the Common Good.”
The new Territorial Government Plan (PGT) of Legnano for the representatives of the two lists is based on three fundamental principles: regeneration, sustainability and flexibility. «These key elements aim to promote interaction between and within neighborhoods, building a city based on relationships – we read in a note -. One aspect of the plan concerns the rules for the regeneration of courtyards, which will continue to pass on their history by transforming themselves into living and dynamic places. Thanks to the creation of common spaces and neighborhood shops, these courtyards will also be able to host new workplaces, unthinkable today but feasible in the future.”
This strategy according to the two lists is applicable to the entire city: «Improving mobility, together with the creation of new parks and squares, will contribute to making Legnano a more livable and sustainable city, from both an environmental and economic point of view, for the public and private sector. The principle of flexibility complements regeneration and sustainability by outlining what is not allowed to be done in specific urban areas. This vision will allow operators to act with greater freedom, while respecting the PGT guidelines. Legnano will not become a city of large sales structures or shopping centers. On the contrary, the new PGT places the person at the center of attention, responding to citizens’ needs with services
dedicated and creating meeting spaces. The PGT of Legnano represents a model of sustainable and flexible urban development, designed to create a city on a human scale, where history, community and innovation are positively intertwined.”
