The colors of the hospitalization department with the different shades of green, in a chromatic design in contrast with the ocher yellow, were chosen with the idea of ​​creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere during the hospitalization of patients and in the broader corporate humanization project of treatments.

«The renovation works of the Vascular Surgery and the construction of a new Angiography room are part of a path undertaken as part of the modernization plan that our company is carrying out – he declared Antonio Lorenzo Spano, general director of the Aou of Sassari. – We have carried out a complete renovation of the structures, financed with the European Development and Cohesion Funds 2014/20 (FSC). The department has 20 beds distributed in 6 rooms of different types: single, double or with four places. After a year and a half of work, the vascular surgery together with the angiographic room of the Santissima Annunziata are only the last pieces of a work of modernization and technological adaptation of our structures”.

«The department was created with the aim of optimizing the paths in the services provided by vascular surgery which are often highly complex in “fragile” patients and in urgent and emergency situations, while guaranteeing a personalized and safe treatment path», he said. stated Dr Gian Franco Fadda, director of the Complex Structure of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Reference center for the north of Sardinia and for the territories of Nuoro and Ogliastra, vascular and endovascular surgery is a complex structure which includes the simple structure “Minimally invasive and endovascular methods”, for which Dr. Sandro Ciccarello and the simple structure “Phlebological Surgery”, for which the doctor is responsible Franco Piredda.

«Our structure is extremely important for the territory and for the entire north center of the island with regards to aortic and peripheral vascular emergencies and trauma – underlined Doctor Fadda – It is a high-volume center for major vascular surgery both in elective and emergency/urgent and we collaborate with colleagues from other departments in a multidisciplinary perspective. The new Angiography room adds to the one present in the Viale San Pietro Clinics to guarantee greater availability of services. The new room is equipped with cutting-edge equipment and allows precise diagnoses. The surface is approx 320 square meters and includes the angiography room, the control room, the room for preparing and waking up patients, the changing rooms, the reporting room and the technical rooms.

«We have a new latest generation angiograph and the room is equipped with further highly technological instrumentation: this allows our specialists to carry out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with maximum precision and safety – underlined the doctor Aldo Pischedda, director of the simple departmental structure of vascular and interventional radiology – The optimal location of the structure allows immediate access to interventional radiological treatment, a particularly relevant factor for time-dependent pathologies and in particular for ischemic stroke. Thanks to these new technologies, the interventions are minimally invasive and this significantly improves the recovery prospects for patients.”

The project for the renovation and adaptation of the systems and fire prevention systems was carried out by engineer Roberto Manca, director of the complex structure “Design and technological innovation”. The works were financed with FSC 2014/2020 funds and, specifically, 700,000.00 euros were allocated to the Vascular Surgery department and 995,000.00 euros for the construction of the Angiography room.
