Death as a result of another crime, specifically the crime of mistreatment. This is the hypothesis for which he is being investigated Davide Falcettawhose girlfriend Claudia De Chirico she took her own life just before Christmas 2016.

To attest to the mistreatment that would have led Claudia, 22 years old at the time of the events, to suicide, there are some messages, which were included, as Repubblica reports, in the “rejection” of the fourth request for dismissal by the prosecutor’s office and of registration in the register of suspects for Falcetta. The measure bears the signature of Marina Chiddojudge of Trani, the consequence is that now it will be investigated more thoroughly.

And we will do it starting from these messageswhich are of the nature of “If you don’t disappear I’ll beat you up”, “You’re beating me up” And “Kill yourself”, and would date back to autumn 2016. These chats would not have been placed in a file and would only have been found some time later, although sent by Falcetta to a brigadier.

And there would be more. In a chat Claudia wrote to her boyfriend: “You hit me but I said I fell”. The young woman would have been in hospital after the beatings, but he would not have reported it so as not to lead to a rupture. But she revealed to a friend: “It’s not true that I fell, yesterday he raised his hands at me”.

Judge Chiddo’s hypothesis is that the man would have shown his violent nature through these virtual dialogues, while Claudia would not have objected due to her own fragility. A situation of mistreatment quite typical, if justice were to prove that these occurred. Meanwhile the judge writes of “progressive nullification of one’s person” referring to the young woman who would be 30 years old today.

Everything comes to a head on 22 December 2016. The couple, 25 years old at the time of the events, go to a wedding party: the event is followed by a quarrel in which Falcetta allegedly slapped Claudia, as witnessed by a petrol station attendant – although Falcetta tells another story. After the argument they separate: she, alone and drunk in the night, is found hanged with the charging cable of her smartphone in a railway underpass in Terlizzi still wearing her formal dress.

Claudia’s family, whose requests are protected by the lawyer Bepi Maralfanever gave up in the attempt to obtain justice.

What emerged was an alleged picture of violence, abuse and fear of abandonment on Claudia’s part, while Falcetta would have told versions of the disputes which, the judge is convinced, need to be explored further.
