PESCARA. The fragilities of younger people and their implicit requests for help do not only concern those who come from difficult family backgrounds. Last Sunday’s crime confirms this. The city councilor starts from this assumption Domenico Pettinari, now president of the Pettinari political movement for Abruzzo, to launch his proposal to the Masci administration. «It is necessary to create aggregation centers», he says during a meeting organized right in front of the Baden Powell park, where Christopher Thomas Luciani was killed with 25 stab wounds by two peers. Together with Pettinari there are Massimiliano Di Pillo e Stephanie D’Amico, city councilors from the Pettinari Mayor list. First of all, they express closeness and condolences to the victim’s family and extend a thought to the families of the children involved in the affair. «It is necessary to set up organized emergency and recovery groups, made up of psychologists and sociologists, capable of intercepting every type of pain, suffering and discomfort among young people, trying to monitor the places in the city frequented by very young people, such as for example parks and the squares, with the help of the local police”, underlines Pettinari. And he adds: «When the new city council takes office, we will present a question to the mayor Charles Masci asking to provide that in every public park in the city a surveillance service on foot by local policemen be established. If the lack of personnel does not allow it, private security men could be employed to guarantee the safety of users, especially children and elderly people who every day tell us of parks invaded by drug dealers and baby gangs».
