MARINA DI GROSSETO – “Sun returns to the sea”. Thus the TartAmare aps association which manages, in agreement with the Municipality of Grosseto, the sea turtle recovery center in via Bramante 83 in Marina di Grosseto, announces the release into nature of a young specimen of Caretta caretta found in difficulty and treated at the said structure.
The appointment to greet the turtle, called Sole, is on June 23rd at 10am, at Waterworld Surf in via dell’Elba, 4 in Marina di Grosseto.
“The event – declares Tartamare – will be characterized by a moment of awareness-raising, during which workshops will take place focused on explaining the threats affecting sea turtles and on narrating the reproductive phases, as we are in the middle of the nesting season”.
Subsequently, Sole will be taken on board and taken offshore to be released; the students of the Waterworld Surf school will accompany Sole for the first stretch in the water with their SUPs. The event will see the participation of the Port Authority, which will accompany the Sun turtle towards the open sea, of councilor Erika Vanelli, for the Municipality of Grosseto and of councilor Leonardo Marras, for the Tuscany Region.
The public event will be coordinated together with the Municipality of Grosseto.
