“Let’s create hope for the world”: the year of the Rotary District 2050 ends in Brescia.
On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June, the monastery of Santa Giulia hosts the closing event of the Rotary year. Reports will be presented on the main services and projects launched by the 78 clubs spread across the provinces of Brescia, Cremona, Lodi, Mantua, Pavia, Milan and Piacenza.
A particularly intense year full of initiatives, guided by the motto of the international president Gordon R. McInally “Let’s create hope in the world”.
The District Governor, Luigi Maione underlined how this Rotary year was characterized by numerous projects and activities that had a significant impact on local and international communities. “It has been an extraordinary year in many ways. We have worked to carry out projects that have made a difference and will continue to make a difference, inspired by the desire to create hope and improve people’s lives, with particular attention to the young generations, pursuing the goal of a positive peace that goes beyond the absence of conflicts”.
During the Congress, reports will be presented on the most significant projects relating to the Rotary areas of intervention, the environment and mental health, those designed to support the young generations and empowering girls. It will also be an opportunity to reflect on the results obtained and lay the foundations for future challenges. The exceptional contributions of individual Rotarians and clubs who have distinguished themselves through commitment and dedication will also be recognized.
The Congress, focused on the theme “A better world? Mission possible. Sustainability and impact investing” includes two moments of discussion open to the public with the possibility of exploring new ideas to continue creating a positive impact in communities, inspired by illustrious guests.
The two talk shows are scheduled for Saturday: at 11am we talk about “Environmental and economic sustainability: vision and ideas compared”, while at 2.30pm we address the topic of “Social sustainability and impact investing: opportunities and scenarios”.
