scene from the film Corso Italia Il Tirreno

PISA. A full-blown arrest in Corso Italia, in the early afternoon of yesterday in front of a good number of people. This is what happened thanks to two carabinieri in civilian clothes who chased a man and ended up pinning him to the ground and putting handcuffs on his wrists, while he shouted and the eyes of passers-by were fixed on the corner with Via del Carmine. According to what some witnesses learned, all this would have happened after reports of theft of clothing from a shop on the main street of the historic center of Pisa. A point of sale of a large international chain that is very well known and frequented in the city.

Then, with handcuffs on his wrists, the arrested man was taken away in the direction of Ponte di Mezzo, making him stop waiting for the car with a patrol car on board which took him away to clarify his position. There is no news regarding any arrests or complaints. However, there were certainly some moments of strong excitement. First the screams from the police telling him to stop. Then the three fell to the ground with the police who immobilized him. Subsequently the man’s requests for some space and his screams for help. It all lasted a few minutes until they got him up and took him to another point on Corso Italia.

After the chaos everything returned to normal, with a few groups of people commenting on what they had just seen and shopping in stores resuming as if nothing had happened.
