Pipes break, half the hospital flooded: inconvenience and activities suspended

Water leak at the hospital. According to what was reported by the Ferrara Local Health Authority, al Santissima Annunziata hospital some pipes broke: this accident compromised part of the services on the first floor and ground floor. Furthermore, due to the interruption of water throughout the site, it was necessary to suspend the Radiology activity, the operating rooms, the plaster cast room and Endoscopy.

The leak point, around lunchtime, was then intercepted and the damage repaired. At the same time, the functionality of the emergency room (on Monday morning the emergency management procedure was activated with the most serious cases being sent to Sant’Anna di Cona). The analysis laboratory, however, was able to continue its activity, thanks to the preventive provision of tank support. As well as the departments, immediately equipped with water tanks to allow the essential activities being carried out.

“The work is now continuing restoration of flooded rooms – the Local Health Authority informs us – and from Tuesday the scheduled activity will resume regularly. The company management thanks all those who, thanks to their intervention, allowed the completion resolution of the fault in a very short time. In particular the firefighters, who were at work from the early hours of the day and intervened immediately as soon as the alarm went off.”
