Here are more “eyes”, for safety

New video cameras to monitor the San Martino area, especially against the abandonment of waste.

In this regard, the municipal administration informs that 12 new surveillance cameras are being installed. The control and security network of the Municipality will therefore be further strengthened, which already had 25 cameras distributed in the most sensitive points of the country before this intervention. Two of the new cameras they were installed in the municipal warehouse in via Dante Alighieri, near the entrance to the sports field, to strengthen the control of this area. Six cameras they will be installed along the embankment path, and financed within the broader redevelopment project of the newly rebuilt Destra Adige cycle path, the construction site of which is nearing completion.

Four new observation points finally, they were installed on via Ceresolo and via Scolo Tron, financed for around 12 thousand euros, or 50% of the overall investment, by the Veneto Region as part of initiatives linked to the fight against waste abandonment.

Often, in fact, the technical office responsible for the maintenance of the territory in these two less densely populated and less busy streets has recorded releases of special waste (often asbestos and similar).

Mayor Elisa Sette states: “The control over the safety of our territory is in a continuous and progressive phase of improvement. These new implementations will serve to achieve positive results for monitoring, safety and prevention. The new installations will also immediately be available to the local police station for synergistic collaboration. The Municipality, in agreement with the Carabinieri, has long since installed a control station which makes the municipal video surveillance infrastructure accessible”.

The councilor for Public Works Riccardo Saoner explains: “Almost all new installations are based on cameras equipped with integrated batteries and a solar panel with mobile internet connectivity. They are therefore completely autonomous and particularly flexible installations. If new needs arise, repositioning on other sites will also be relatively easy.”

“We certainly still have a lot to do – concludes the mayor Elisa Sette: “We are looking for resources to be able to cover other sensitive places in our territory with other camerasthere are new possibilities coming that we hope to be able to materialize in the short term.”
