During the past day, in the evening and at night, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rovigo they carried out an extraordinary service of control of the Polesano territoryaimed primarily at the prevention and repression of crimes against property, the control of road traffic as well as places and premises frequented by addicts to the consumption of narcotic substances and the abuse of alcoholic beverages.
During the service – in which, in addition to the normal patrols aimed at ensuring daily surveillance of the territory, twelve military vehicles were used with twenty-four Carabinieri from the Mobile Radio Units and the Stations of the three companies of Rovigo, Adria and Castelmassa – 11 public establishments were checked, the positions of 17 people subjected to obligations/restrictions on personal freedom were verified, numerous checkpoints were carried out, which overall led to the check of 69 vehicles and the identification of 122 people, with 12 administrative sanctions imposed.
The results were certainly not lacking.
“At the conclusion of the activities – the communication continues – nine people were reported at liberty:
- four motorists for “driving under the influence of drugs”all Italian men, one involved in a road accident, for whom the license was confiscated and in two cases the car was also seized;
- a 54 year old Italian criminal, for “driving without a license” as it was revoked, while the owner of the vehicle, a 56-year-old Italian, who was traveling with him for “unwise reliance”;
- a 42 year old Romanian criminal for “carrying objects capable of offending”since the inspection of the car in which he was traveling revealed three large screwdrivers and eight cutters, transported without justified reason and subjected to seizure;
- a 19 year old Italian convicted felon for “violation of the mandatory va form”, since it is controlled in the Municipality of Bosaro from which he had been removed with a ban on return for three years, with a provision notified to him last March;
- a 55 year old Chinese entrepreneur for various “breaches of the employer’s obligations, in particular connected with the protection, health and safety of workers”with a position verified during an inspection carried out jointly by the Carabinieri of Castelmassa and those of the Carabinieri Inspectorate of Rovigo”.
“In the fight against narcotic substances seven people were reported to the Police Authority (pursuant to art.75 DPR 309/90 and as employers) (five men and two women), four young people between 19 and 21 years old, then a 37 year old and two 50 year olds, found in possession of narcotic substances allegedly intended for personal use, with the total seizure of 13 grams of hashish, 5 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of Marijuana and an ecstasy tablet. In checks aimed at combating the abuse of alcoholic substances, administrative sanctions were imposed (pursuant to art.688 CP) three people, caught in a state of obvious drunkenness”.
