Trani: Twenty years ago the birth of the Bat Province, the centre-right: «Lodispoto forgets»

«The Barletta-Andria-Trani Province was born on 15 June 2004, 20 years ago. A historic day for our Territory which, after fighting for the recognition of its autonomy, managed to achieve the objective. It is appropriate to remember on this day those who worked towards this goal, which materialized in 2009 with the celebration of the first provincial elections.

Subsequently, the Rio reform denied citizens the possibility of freely expressing their representatives in the Provincial Council, assigning all decision-making power to the President alone and limiting the action of the provincial councilors no longer elected by the people but by mayors and municipal councilors of the municipalities of the Province. I am sorry to learn that the President of the BAT Province has forgotten to honor this historic date of self-determination of the territory. Yet in 2009 he was a councilor of that constituent province alongside the late Dr. Ciccio Salerno, former mayor of Barletta, without forgetting the heroic battles of his fellow villager Margheritano, the late lawyer. Tonino Di Lecce, last president of the “Comitato di Lotta Barletta Provincia”, father of fellow municipal councilor Gianluca Di Lecce. Evidently President Lodispoto is already at the seaside!
