Modena, 24 June 2024 – Last pre-holiday commitment for the Volley Modena clan, which today at 6pm, on the renovated volleyball court created inside the handball pavilion at the PalaMolza in Modena, faces an American team for the second time: after the the Kansas University girls faced three weeks ago, with the match ending at 2-2, this time it will be the turn of the Californians of CalPoly Volley, the team from the California Polytechnic State University of San Louis Obispo. It will be an opportunity to see all the new arrivals in gialloblù at work, from those already announced such as Alice Bellini, and Federica Nonnati, to those yet to be announced such as Sofia Pagot, as well as obviously the trio formed by Righi, Zironi and Mattioli, in arrival of Moma Anderlini, who in turn announced the roster for next season.
At the disposal of the reconfirmed Roberta Maioli, to make up the B1, a team of about fifteen members, two thirds of whom are confirmed after the good season of B2, to which will be added some prospects coming from the D series, such as Agnese Cervi and Anna Sartori, and others arriving from outside, such as the talented Sofia Rinieri from Ravenna, niece of the Italian Simona, Aurora Piron from Torri di Quartesolo, Sara Pedrolli from Scandicci, and the Reggio Emilia Rebecca Rademacher from Virtus Casalgrande.
Returning to Volley Modena, while awaiting official confirmation of Pagot’s arrival, the club has made the return to the gialloblù official, even if at the time we were talking about Academy Modena, of Enrico Scala, ex-player, now manager, and profound expert on the dynamics of Modena minor volleyball, which confirms President Mirco Muzzioli’s intention to strengthen not only the team, but also the management staff, in view of what remains the corporate objective, that is, to bring a team from Modena back to at least A2. “For me it is a return, – confirms Enrico Scala, – after a very positive experience in Rubiera: I had the opportunity to speak with president Muzzioli, and I must say that he convinced me to return to bring my experience of years of volleyball , and to give my contribution to try to do better than last year, which ended in a very dignified fourth place, just a handful of points away from the playoff zone. This year, with some additions and a little more experience, we hope for a championship of an even slightly higher level in a tournament that probably promises to be even more complicated.”
