In Terni another brawl almost broke out in the city council. The atmosphere was tense from the beginning of the session, Friday morning at Palazzo Spada, and at the end the tension skyrocketed, as evidenced once again by a video of TeleGalileo. Long suspension of the works of the highest city assembly during which the conference of presidents took place, then the resumption of the works and the apologies from both the Dem councilor Spinelli and the mayor Bandecchi, protagonists of the brawl.

Terni, another fight in the council came close After the start of the city council meeting as usual, the presentation of the first item on the agenda illustrated by the competent councilor, the speech of the city councilor Kenny (Innovate for Terni) followed by that of Batini (Popular Alternative) then Kenny again who asked to speak on a personal matter: «He said the wrong thing», explains the representative of Innovare per Terni referring to the AP councilor. «You did not attribute a false fact to her», replies President Francescangeli. At that point tempers heat up: «Continue to do what you want in this city council», exclaims Kenny who reiterates his desire to speak. «Listen, you use these ways at your home with your family members if they allow it, you don’t use them with me. I invite you to leave the room”, exclaimed the president of the highest city meeting, getting up from her chair, who then asked for the intervention of the local police to accompany the opposition councilor out of the room: “These excesses are no longer tolerated”. She then suspends the session, the YouTube streaming cameras turn off, but the chaos continues.
Spinelli-Bandecchi clash During the suspension of the council, the cameras recorded the event TeleGalielo, PD councilor Spinelli approached the mayor’s desk and pointed to him. “You don’t do that to me”, exclaimed Bandecchi and to Spinelli’s reply “I do what I want” the mayor got up and went towards the opposition councillor. The two were kept at a distance by the councilor Cardinali and the local police officers and returned to their places in the classroom. But the tension did not subside: “Sit down, you came here to threaten me”, Bandecchi told Spinelli and then added “I want a complaint for this gentleman”.
Suspension The city council resumed after a long suspension. «I hope that this long conference of presidents has led to a different direction, to a different management of the board and that what we have said has been profitably followed – said Francescangeli -. We have decided to self-regulate in the expressions, ways and terms used, inside and outside the council. We have decided that there will be no form of tolerance towards incorrect expressions, including incorrect facial expressions. We had already decided it, I hope this is the right time. With a view to calming minds, I ask Professor Kenny to return to the classroom, in the hope of being able to continue this advice more serenely.”
Excuses The session of the highest city meeting continued regularly, then on the sidelines of his speech, councilor Dem Spinelli said: «I would like to apologize for an episode in which I was the protagonist this morning. It’s not in my nature. Out of respect for the role we are called to play which is very high, we must carry out our task with honor, discipline and not lose control. I wasn’t able to do it for a few minutes today, I apologize to everyone, starting with the mayor and the president. We were good at using this episode to draw a line. I hope that from now on, with respect for those who voted for us, we will be able to carry out the work with more serenity and focusing more on the contents and less on issues that are of little interest to citizens”. Subsequently, the mayor also intervened in this regard: «I thank Spinelli for what he said and I thank him for his manner. Since I was also involved in this discussion, I apologize to the entire assembly, I also apologize to you Spinelli for the way I responded to you, certainly excessively. I believe that for my part, episodes of this type, after what we said to each other today, if things are like this, will never happen again.”
