Moro murder, “an unpremeditated ambush”

In eighty pages the Court of Assizes of Latina reconstructs the murder of Massimiliano Moro killed on the evening of January 25th in his apartment in Largo Cesti in Latina by two gunshots. The reasons examine everything: the declarations of the justice collaborators, the criminal and historical context in which the murder took place, the sentence that became final in the Caronte trial.

The President of the Assize Court Gian Luca Soana starts from the story of the two repentants: Renato Pugliese and Agostino Riccardo: «These statements have reopened the criminal proceedings». Regarding the motive, the Court of Assizes highlights what was declared by the third collaborator Andrea Pradissitto: «He reported that the murder was a retaliation by some members of the Ciarelli family for the attempted murder of Carmine Ciarelli». And then reliability is examined: «The contribution provided by Andrea Pradissitto in the reconstruction of the relevant facts is characterized by full intrinsic reliability in terms of the reliability of the declarant – it is reported – his coherence and logic. The choice to collaborate was determined not only by the desire to obtain benefits but by the maturation of a different lifestyle choice.” Much of the reconstruction focuses on what the repentants reported.
