Agrigento, provincial road 71 Misita – Zingarello reopened

The provincial road 71 which connects Agrigento with the neighborhoods of Misita, Zingarello, Cipolluzze and Mandrascava reopened a few days ago.

The Libero Municipal Consortium, after having entrusted the works to a specialized company, handed over to public use the road connected to the bridge over the Naro river which is particularly used during the summer period.

The works involved the assembly of expansion joints in the asphalt of the bridge over the Naro river which, in the previous weeks, sparked vibrant protests from citizens and associations forced to reach Punta Bianca via state road 115 in the direction of Palma di Montechiaro.

Provincial road 71 is traveled daily not only by residents of the districts concerned but by the many commuter workers who go to the eastern area of the province and vice versa.

During the summer the artery is particularly used by visitors and tourists who reach Punta Bianca and the other beaches on the coast.

Finally, after an intense period of work, the Free Municipal Consortium, on the initiative of the Director of the sector, Eng. Michelangelo Di Carlo and the engineer. Angela Rizzo, who was in charge of the Technical Management, returned the affected road to the community by completing the road section in perfect condition.
