Renato Zero inaugurates his Self-portrait tour in summer form from an Arena della Vittoria full of people who have come from every corner of Puglia, and beyond, to see him perform

Renato Zero after the 14 sold outs of the winter tour it begins with another full house in Bari, filling theVictory Arena. The setlist includes songs from the latest album, Self-portraitfrom which the tour takes its name, but also the songs that made it enter the annals of Italian music.
I arrive early to enjoy the atmosphere and the electricity the fans fill the air with. Renato Zero’s fans do not have a well-defined age, they do not just fall into one sexual gender, they are varied and colourful. Billboards, headbands, t-shirts and any other accessory that can identify them as his fans becomes normal here.
Renato Zero’s last time just after covid if I remember correctly, al Palaflorio, in a live show that left everyone speechless thanks to the presence of the orchestra and the majestic dresses. This tour does not disappoint either.
The concert
Also on this tour Renato Zero is accompanied by the orchestra and with them he makes magical historical pieces awaited by their fans who struggle to stay seated. And how can you blame them? I find myself struggling to stay focused on taking photos in the time and in the pieces established by the policy given to us.
And afterwards, I admit it, I sing them the songs they made Renato Zero that undisputed myth that has entered the hearts of so many people. Delicate poet, transformist and non-conformist in times in which artists like Maneskin would have been torn to pieces by the media for the excesses that today seem “normal” to us.
The first of two dates in Bari was good and tomorrow will certainly be better. But next time Renato, let’s move the mixer a little closer so that you can make us photographers happy too.
