It happened during the day and in the center of Reggio Calabria, the 32-year-old approached the man and robbed him of his dog, a Bichon Havanais.
REGGIO CALABRIA – A citizen of Reggio Calabria, in recent days, was attacked, threatened and robbed of his dog by an unknown person. The episode occurred in broad daylight in a central area of the city. The victim was walking with her dog, a Bichon Havanais, when she was suddenly approached by a man who violently snatched the dog from his hands and ran away.
The victim suffered bruises on his arms in an attempt to stop the robber.
Despite the shock, the victim managed to provide the police officers of the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters who intervened on site with a detailed description of the robber. Information that was important for the policemen who shortly thereafter managed to identify the dog thief. The owner also managed to identify the man and suffered death threats from the robber. This is a 32-year-old foreigner, who was identified and arrested. During the search of his apartment, the officers found the dog which was immediately returned to its rightful owner.
The 32-year-old was subject to precautionary measures for robbery and personal injury. The victim, treated by the health personnel who intervened, received a prognosis of ten days. The judicial authority, informed of the facts, validated the arrest and ordered the man to sign twice a day at the judicial police.
