Sassari. Today, Thursday 20 June, at 6pm, at the Tavolara Pavilion in the Public Gardens of Sassari, Francesco Bua will present “Il Liceo Azuni vol.3 1925-1950. The school from Fascism to the Republic” (Edes editions). Together with the author, Antonello Mattone, historian, and Antonio Deroma, high school director will speak.

The book. The role of the school in Sassari during the fascist regime and the freedom found after 8 September 1943. Teachers and students are not only witnesses of the events, but sometimes protagonists. The amnesty granted to heal the wounds of the civil war allows us not to deal with the recent past, which is however destined to re-emerge after years of silence. The discovery of the personal file of Professor Zaira Coen Righi, who died in Auschwitz, has saved the story of one of our fellow citizens who was a victim of racial legislation from oblivion, contributing to the construction of a shared memory that is no longer torn and removed. From the world of school emerge, as if from a sieve, different personal experiences, often dramatic which, even when characterized by the silence of the protagonists, wait to be known and understood in their different reasons.
