“In the aftermath of Bisceglie Calcio’s defeat in the away game at Maiori, I would like to make some considerations as a councilor and as a sportsman. First of all, I must categorically deny the absence of the institutions in the matter relating to the travel ban on fans. Immediately after the Prefecture’s ordinance was issued we took prompt action and made our opposition known, even in a strong manner, to all the institutional bodies up to the top of football.” Thus begins the comment, entrusted to social media, in which the Sports councilor Maurizio Di Pinto responds, albeit indirectly, to the criticisms made by opposition councilor Francesco Spina (READ HERE).

“Unfortunately, the 48 hours of time available, despite a myriad of phone calls, notes, oppositions, etc., did not work in our favor. Obviously this affair, also for a principle of sporting loyalty, as far as we are concerned, will still have consequences and we will carry on a battle so that the principle of sporting justice must always prevail together with the mandatory dignity of the facilities. For this reason, we will not stop here and will therefore follow up on all our opposition notes that are on file”, continues Di Pinto.

“In this regard, I would like to thank the mayor and our institutional representatives in the Senate who dedicated themselves to trying to resolve the situation. And I underline that, very often, those who don’t shout on social media are working to solve problems and those who should have known know. If there have been irregularities, or at least superficialities, in this matter, someone will have to answer for them. From a sporting point of view, however, I believe that the challenges must be faced and despite the difficulties the team played its match. I believe that everyone must play their own game and must accept the result of the pitch, even when unfavorable. Sport is also and above all this and, beyond institutional battles, commitments must be faced even in complicated situations, and as far as I’m concerned this applies in sport as in life”, we read in the post.

“My congratulations go to the club, the managers, the staff and the players for never having thought of giving up the challenge on the pitch. Very often what we lose in some situations we find again in others”, concludes the councilor.
