In the context ofYear of Italian roots in the world, dedicated to welcoming Italian descendants in their territories of origin, ITALEA – the program to promote roots tourism launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation within the PNRR project and financed by NextGenerationEU for the period 2022-2025 – enthusiastically announces the participation of ITALEA ABRUZZO in the fifty-eighth edition of the CHIN PICNIC “TASTE OF LITTLE ITALY”. This prestigious event will be held in Toronto (Canada) from June 14 to 16 and is organized by Chin Radio/TV International.
The journey of ITALEA ABRUZZO, together with the Regions Basilicata, Lazio, Molise and to the ITALEA groups of Calabria, Friuli, Lazio and Molise, it was promoted to strengthen ties with Italian descendants and to develop synergies with Canadian tour operators, with the aim of strengthening roots tourism.
The ITALEA ABRUZZO group has organized a series of events to promote the rich cultural and traditional heritage of the Abruzzo region:
1. Saturday 15 June:
· 11:00 am (Italian time): live streaming on the popular traditions of Abruzzo with a performance of live music by the young prodigy of the accordion and the Abruzzo’s pagliarello.
· Next: artisan workshop for the construction of the Abruzzo accordion “lu Ddù botte”.
2. Sunday 16 June:
· from 8:00 to 10:00 (Italian time): live streaming of the cooking show “Pasta alla guitar and Abruzzo Gnocchetti” by Dora Ettorre, Victoria Marinari And Ulderica Vertolli.
