Costa Crociere and Trenitalia together for a new charter train service between Savona and Genoa.
This is an initiative within the integrated ship-train services promoted by the two companies to encourage sustainable tourist mobility through connections already operational in other areas such as Civitavecchia-Rome.
Passengers on Costa cruise ships arriving in Savona will be able to take advantage of excursions to Genoa with dedicated charter trains.

Cruise passengers on holiday on Costa ships who want to make excursions to Genoa during the day of the ships’ call in Savona will use a shuttle service that will take them from the Palacrociere to the Savona station where they will find the train service dedicated to them available.
After a stop in Genoa, to admire the city or visit the Aquarium, the train will take cruise passengers back to Savona, to return to the ship via the shuttle service. The connection became fully operational on 8 June.

Costa Crociere And Trenitalia continue to add new opportunities linked to the strategic project of sustainable transport of passengers, focused on some connections with the ports of destination of Costa Crociere ships, with the involvement of national, regional and local institutions. Among the various initiatives there are also the study of electrical local feeders which connect the port and the station, with the contribution of other companies of the “Passenger Hub” of the FS Italiane Group, and of “last tourist mile” rail connections port-city-airport.
