PESARO – From today paid summer parking returns to Field of Mars in Baia Flaminia valid on weekends. First test to understand whether the implementation of the measure will gradually correspond to an improvement in the wild parking that grips Baia Flaminia every summer weekend. Or at least this is the hope of the neighborhood and of the Baia Flaminia Traders’ Association. Even last weekend, on the social network there was a flurry of shots posted showing cars parked in a creative way between the center of the Bay and the Campo di Marte, leaving aside the invasion of scooters.

At Campo di Marte the ticket is active from 15th June and for all weekends in July and August until 1st September from 9am to 9pm. The expected rate remains unchanged and will be applied in the Campo di Marte parking areas and in viale Warsaw at a cost of 1.05 for the first hour, 1.25 from the second hour and 0.30 cents for half an hour.

In Sottomonte

And again from this weekend, with the end of school, the area around the school complex of the Santa Marta hotel institute in Sottomonte will also return to use as a seaside car park, which will be subject to charges on the weekends of June and every day from 1st July to 1st September from 8am to 8pm. While the parking reserved for accommodation facilities on the Levante seafront will start in the months of July and August. At Santa Marta the rates range from 1 euro for the first hour, 0.75 starting from the second and third hour, up to 0.50 cents for the following hours. «It is difficult to predict what to expect from paid parking close to the beach concessions – comments Stefano Poderi, president of the Baia Flaminia district – but the situation here is always the same every summer, with or without tickets, and that is, there are more cars than parking spaces. To complicate everything, and this was also seen last weekend, there are some residents, around Viale Londra and Piazzale Europa, who use the garage not as a garage but as a storage area for equipment and so on, leaving their cars in the stalls in front of condominiums and commercial activities”.

The reports

And in the meantime the wild stop reigns supreme. This has been the case over the last few weekends, just scroll through the snapshots posted via social media by more than one resident to see that with the Campo di Marte being free so far but always full, scooters and motorbikes, in order to reach the concessions and the free beach, have continued to park in a no-parking zone on via Londra and surrounding areas, on bends or on pedestrian crossings, in front of the Flaminio hotel and so on. The car park in Via Belgrado is also sold out on weekends. At the moment the only valid alternative is the use of the shuttle which has so far been little used. The “Baia Flaminia” line runs every 15 minutes, from 9am to 8.45pm (last departure from Baia Flaminia at 8.5pm), with departures from the free street car park between the Two Ports (dock) to reach the beaches.

The times

In June it circulates on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th; Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd; Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th; in July and August every weekend; in September, Sunday 1st. Stops at: Darsena del Porto (road between the Two Ports); viale Gorizia (port); via Baldi (Campo di Marte); longleaf of Nations; viale Gorizia (port); port dock (road between the Two Ports).
