COSENZA – Skate Park: the Cosenza city council, which met yesterday, also unanimously approved the Regulations for its use within the Wellness Park and which had already been voted unanimously in the Environment and Historic Center Commission under the presidency of Massimiliano d’Antonio. L’Councilor Francesco Alimena explained that «the Skate Park, together with the sports fields, it is one of the flagships of the Park. It represents not only a particular place that is difficult to find in our cities, but also un socializing environment that brings many kids closer to sportt. It was, however, necessary to approve a regulation – he explained yesterday during his speech in the City Council, because it is often thought that the Skate Park can also be used for cycling or rollerblading. In reality, anyone who uses it in this way damages itbecause the structure has been corrected several times in many of its points by this Municipal Administration.
Alimena: “the Skate Park can host regional competitions: it must be preserved”
In particular, thanks to the collaboration with the regional representative of roller sports, the Skate Park is able to host regional level competitions. There has been significant work to improve the structure and the regulation itself is the result of the proposal by Nicola Bosa, passionate about roller sports and who drew up a draft regulation for us which the Commission examined, modified and approved. Therefore – added the Councilor – we hope that the Skate Park, like all the sports fields of the Wellness Park, will remain as they are now: usable by everyone, free and without payments and which, above all, carry out the function for which they were installed which is that of social seam. We have all seen how many citizens of Cosenza, young and old, play on these fields. This is why it is important to preserve them” concluded Alimena.
Skate Park: opening times and ban on use of bikes and skates
The regulation, approved by the Commission, provides that the structure will be accessible every day of the year, from 8.00 to 23.00. Limitations on use may be established for maintenance interventions or on the occasion of events organized and/or authorized by the Municipality. Access and use are free and will only be permitted to people (children, teenagers, adults) exclusively if they have a skateboard or rollerblade. So prohibition to use the structure with bicycles or skates.
Inside only those who do activities. Accompanied minors
For security reasons noAnyone who is not engaged in the activity is not allowed to stay inside the structure. Each person will access it exclusively under his own responsibility or, if a minor, under that of a parent or guardian. In particular, children under 12 years of age will only be able to access it if accompanied and supervised by an adult. The regulation also states that the Municipality of Cosenza is not responsible for accidents and/or injuries caused by the use of the structure, nor for any thefts and/or accidents caused by improper or negligent use of the same.
Clean and tidy structure. “He who breaks pays”,
Any damage to the system caused by incorrect, negligent and/or malicious behavior will be entirely charged to the author. All users dthey will have to keep the structure clean and tidy. The regulation also contains further obligations for the prevention of accidents and a series of prohibitions such as access in case of rain, snow or ice or that of consume food and drinks. Violation of the rules and provisions of the regulation is punished not only with immediate removal from the structure, but also with administrative pecuniary sanctions from 25.00 to 500.00 euros provided for by current legislation on the matter.
