Borgovico closed, less traffic in the city, but Bixio in queue

Via Nino Bixio all in a queue towards Como, but fewer queues in the city compared to the first morning of work. The closure of via Borgovico to test the traffic: for now the city is holding up to the mega construction site with the work that will continue until the end of August according to the program of the intervention to redo the water network (about 800 meters long) prepared by the Lereti company.

The closure of the access gates (uphill) to Bixio and the entrance to the city from Borgovico (at the Villa Olmo roundabout) started yesterday between 8:15 and 8:30. The traffic controllers and the local police were on duty at the roundabouts (an officer was present in Largo Ceresio to manage the traffic coming from Via Bellinzona and that from San Fermo and channel it onto Bixio).

This morning the queue in the city starts on the lakeside from the intersection with Viale Cavallotti, obviously in the direction of Borgovico, while the ring road is free, no queues even in Viale Rosselli. On the other hand there are queues along the entire Via Nino Bixio, starting from Largo Ceresio in the direction of Como. Queues also in Monte Olimpino, starting from the straight under the church of San Zenone up to the roundabout of the Iperal. Free, however, the way to Cernobbio

Yesterday at rush hour, at 5 pm, we were traveling on the black-marked stretch at 12 kilometers per hour. Slow, but not stopped. The fear now is for the weekend, especially for the city and via per Cernobbio, with the inevitable traffic of those heading towards the lake.
