Many artists will liven up the alleys of the historic Capo district

The fifth edition of the traveling performing arts festival From Cape to Capeconceived and directed by the actor and director Valerio Strati, an event that animates the historic Capo district of Palermo, began with thematic workshops and will reach its climax on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June with a series of events not to be missed.

Theatre, dance, music and storytelling are the arts with which the many artists present will involve adults and children in a joyful neighborhood party which, edition after edition, has broadened its boundaries by attracting a large number of spectators.

«The festival has existed since 2017 but this edition – declares Valerio Strati – is an example of active cooperation dedicated to the neighbourhood. The network created between the realities of the Cape, merged into the Educational Pact, the result of an agreement between six associations, is demonstrating its strength thanks to the spirit of collaboration more than a year after its launch. With the workshops we continue to involve the area more and more every year and we are certain that by addressing children the seeds of our actions will not be lost.”

Promoted and supported by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Palermo, the Festival with its various stages among alleys, courtyards and small squares, as per tradition, will start from Porta Carini and will be repeated twice during the day: Saturday 15th June at 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm, Sunday 16 June at 10.00 am and 11.30 am.

This exciting journey into the arts will begin with Historical route inside the neighborhood curated by the journalist Mario Pintagro; continuing in the Cosimina courtyard the actor Giovanni Fardella will give voice to Romeoa theatrical text written and directed by Giuseppe Massa.

Cortile dei Caccami will host theMusical improvisation curated by Alfonso Vella while in the Saponeria square Chiara Minaldi will be waiting for the public with her Singing incursion.

The actress Eletta Del Castillo, as well as an author, will be the protagonist of the theatrical performance in Piazza della Mercede Brandusha; to close the route, in the small square San Giovanni alla Guilla, Scopariote theatrical text written and directed by Domenico Bravo, with Marzia Coniglio and Maria Grazia Saccaro.

There were two special events resulting from the section From Chief to Chief-lab: Saturday starting from 6.30 pm in Piazza Beati Paoli you will be able to attend the returns of the free workshops aimed at children and young people in the Capo district, carried out in collaboration with the partners of the Capo Educational Pact.

In particular, the outcome of the Theater Workshop conducted by Chiara Chiavetta, aimed at children aged 12 to 18, and the outcome of the Dance Workshop designed for children aged 6 to 10 conducted by Arabella Scalisi will be shared with the audience present. . Followed by a big party with the families of the neighborhood.

The fifth edition of the event will close on Sunday 16th at 12.30 in Piazza Beati Paoli with the concert by the Famiglia del Sud duo with Margherita Riotta and Francesco Paolo Riotta.
