The 19-year-old, the police reconstructed, was one of the young drug dealers who operated in the Ragusa area, between Modica and Scicli, who had managed to obtain 4 kilograms of marijuana, worth around 15 thousand euros, from the Syracuse group, but they would not then have paid. Thus the retaliation would have been triggered with the raid on the evening of June 20th when the group from Syracuse encountered the person who owed them the money: they fired two gunshots and kidnapped one of them, the 19-year-old, who remained hostage until the debt was paid. contract.
The discovery of the hideout
The next day the police managed to reconstruct the story and arrested the 19-year-old’s accomplice, a twenty-year-old North African resident in Modica, who has the 4 kilos of marijuana that were seized. Further investigations led to the discovery of the hideout where the hostage is held; a house in the center of Syracuse. The Carabinieri organized the blitz in every detail and intervened, as well as with the territorial component of Ragusa and Syracuse, with the help of special departments: Gis of Livorno, Api of Catania and the Heliported Cacciatori squadron of Sigonella. The military entered the house and freed the hostage and arrested his jailer, a 17-year-old from Syracuse.
