Madame Curie – Municipality of Palermo

The summer season of the Teatro Biondo Palermo continues, at the Villa Tasca Park, on 25 June at 9.00 pm with I’ll tell you Madame Curie by Riccardo Bàrbera, who joins Gaia De Laurentiis on stage.
Reply on June 26th at the same time.
Based on the comedy Le formidabili Curie (Calcante Prize for dramaturgy in 2023 awarded by the Italian Society of Dramatic Authors), the show tells the story of the famous scientist from a new perspective.
In the Curie household, in fact, two parallel and extraordinary stories coexisted: that of Marie and Irène in the world of chemistry and physics, and that of Ève Curie, the “strange” daughter, concert performer, politician and writer, who chose the path of art and music and who was also a passionate family biographer.
In the show Gaia De Laurentiis is the narrator of Ève Curie, but also her mother Marie and sister Irène. Her story evokes the musical suggestions that Ève encountered in over a century of life, spanning the entire 20th century and traveling all over the world. Sounds that come to life thanks to Laura Manzini’s piano: from Bach to Beethoven, from Chopin to Liszt, from Debussy to Satie, from Gershwin to Schoenberg.
Riccardo Bàrbera instead gives life to the male characters: husbands, colleagues and lovers of these extraordinary women.
Before the shows, at 7.00 pm, literary aperitifs will take place: on Tuesday 25th Simona Lo Iacono will present Viridmura (Guanda) with dramatized readings curated by Angelo Grasso and interpreted by Giorgia Indelicato and Noa di Venti; Wednesday 26th Aurora Tamigio will present The surname of women (Feltrinelli), theatrical readings curated by Giuseppe Randazzo and performed by Chiara Peritore and Brenda Liotta.
Alessio Arena, scientific consultant of the Villa Tasca Park, will introduce.
