Entertainment, success for the first edition of Accorsi’s “Planetaria”.

Rome, 12 June. (askanews) – The first edition of Planetaria – Discorsi con la Terra, the new format created by Stefano Accorsi and Filippo Gentili with the production of Superhumans and Fondazione Teatro della Toscana, which for three days brought to Florence, at the Teatro della Pergola, workshops, panels, family shows and evening shows on the theme of the climate crisis, bringing some of the biggest names in the artistic and scientific panorama to the stage.

Alongside Stefano Accorsi, there were Vittoria Puccini, Valentina Bellè, Nicolas Maupas and Ludovica Martino, the scientists and popularizers Claudia Pasquero, Scientific Director of Planetaria, Giulio Boccaletti and Stefano Mancuso, scientific consultants, the anthropologist Emanuela Borgnino and the zoologist Mia Canestrini.

An immersive experience which in this debut edition involved over 3,500 people and “invaded” all the spaces of the Teatro della Pergola, one of the oldest theaters in Italy, built between 1652 and 1656. From the basement to the Sala Poli and Sala Ballo, on the historic stage of the Great Hall, Planetaria brought the public questions and reflections to rethink the relationship with the Planet and learn to live there in a constructive and sustainable way.

Stefano Accorsi, artistic director of the event, declared: “The three days of Planetaria confirmed to me that combining theater and science to talk about the climate crisis is the way to go to touch people’s hearts on such an important topic. We brought the Earth into the theater and it was an unforgettable experience. The Pergola audience, with their warmth, confirmed to us that we were on the right path. We managed to involve all generations, with morning shows for the little ones, afternoon talks and evening shows for adults, with the surprising presence of Artificial Intelligence. In the evening, actors and scientists shared the theater stage creating a memorable alchemy: the scientists enriched the actors with their knowledge, the actors enriched the scientists with their emotions”.

The star of the evenings was the Sibilla, an artificial intelligence Avatar in the form of an imposing 7 meter high LED totem, created for the occasion by Innovation partner Engineering and born from the meeting of generative AI and virtual reality skills. Sibilla responded every evening to impromptu questions from the audience in the room on the most disparate environmental issues, from communication systems between trees, to the role of emotions in the fight against climate change, up to how humanity should best manage and face the challenges environmental.
